Since its founding in 2009, AstreX has joined many space projects through the development of space power supply system by engineers led by Hideaki Kikuchi.

Currently, AstreX products are installed on numerous microsatellites, and are active not only in Earth orbit but also in deep space. For example, the power supply system installed on the microsatellites “Hodoyoshi No. 3 and No. 4,” launched by the University of Tokyo and NeSTRA in 2014, has been in operation in space for over 10 years and has accumulated a wide range of proven track records.

Meanwhile, looking at the current environment surrounding the industry, the space economy is undergoing a transformation from a state-led field responsible for public services and national security to a new private-sector-led business platform focused on private economic efficiency, and the market size is expected to rapidly expand non-linearly. In response to these changes in this environment, AstreX will significantly strengthen its current structure and be reborn as a new business entity that will handle everything from R&D to manufacturing all at once in October 2024.

With its newly strengthened organization, AstreX will continue to hone its senses and aim for further growth, while leveraging the unique technology and track record it has built up to date, and the connections with colleagues who have challenged space together as its core competencies, and will challenge the growth and development of space development and satellite-related technologies that will support the foundation of society in the future.
